Youth
At Holy Trinity we value people of all ages and that includes our young people. We think it is important to have fun as we get to know Jesus better and follow him. After all, some wise person once said "The chief end of mankind is to know God and enjoy him for ever", so enjoyment in the process seems OK!
Youth Club
Our Youth Club meets on Friday evenings in The Old School. Spark is for school years 5-7 and operates from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Fusebox is for school years 8 and above and meets from 7:30pm-9:30pm. We use the whole building to enjoy a range of activities including favourites such as cooking, pool, table tennis and play station. We now have an average of 70 young people in both Spark and Fusebox.
Our team of young leaders contribute to planning and organise themed events such as ‘I’m a celebrity’, ‘Indian night' and film making. If there's enough light there are opportunities to play football in the nearby field adjacent to the churchyard. During the last term our activities have included a celebration of Chinese New Year, Burn's Night, a 'celebrity couple dress-up' and an off-site visit to Crawley Bowl.
We have also choose a charity to support each term and recently we were pleased to hand over a cheque for an amazing £419 to Winston's Wish.
We always welcome new members in both Spark and Fusebox. If you would like further information please contact Nicky on 07711 673262 or click here to email Nicky.
Pathfinders and ID
On Sunday mornings two groups meet at 9:45am in The Old School: Pathfinders for ages 11-13 and ID for over-13s. Both groups read the bible together and work out what it means for us. The groups join Sunday’s Cool and the main congregation in the Church during the later part of the Family Communion service. On the first Sundays in the month all participate in the 9:45am Family Service in the Church.
Every once in a while there are five Sundays in a month and when that happens ID leads the 9:45am Service – often an opportunity for something a bit different. The older members of the congregation are really good at going with it and joining in.
These older groups arrange social activities too. These have included bowling; pizza; a variety of swim parties from home pools to flumes at Butlins in Bognor; going to Diocesan events such as BigChurchDayOut; and going to hear Christian bands.
For more information about Pathfinders and ID please contact Jonathan Berry on 01444 455986 or simply turn up on a Friday evening or Sunday morning where you can be sure of a very warm welcome.
