The PCC

The ‘Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of Holy Trinity Cuckfield’ (known as ‘Holy Trinity Church Cuckfield’ for short) is a United Kingdom registered charity (No. 1131432.)  The purpose of the PCC is to promote in the parish the whole mission of the Church – pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical.  As Charity Trustees, PCC members are also responsible for ensuring that not only does the Church deliver these charitable outcomes but does so whilst remaining solvent and well-run.

Active involvement in the PCC is encouraged at Holy Trinity. The PCC membership includes several categories of individual, some present through entitlement (the Clergy and Readers), some through their positions on the Diocesan or Deanery Synods (to which they have been separately elected.) The balance of the membership – 12 in the case of Holy Trinity Cuckfield – are Laity Members each elected for a term of three years at Annual Parochial Church Meetings held in April.

The Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Electoral Roll Officer and Parish Safeguarding Co-ordinator are officers elected by the PCC.

School Foundation Governors

The PCC approves nominations of Foundation Governors to Holy Trinity CE(A) Pimary School.   Diocesan Foundation Governors (2 posts) are recommended to the Diocesan Board of Education by the PCC.  PCC Foundation Governors (5 posts) are appointed directly by the PCC.  The Vicar of Cuckfield is the eighth Foundation Governor.  Certain of the posts are reserved for parents or guardians or a child registered at the School.  The other is for a PCC Foundation Governor who in this particular instance need not be a parent or guardian, but can be.  If you would like to consider applying to be a Foundation Governor please download the
