Advent is the start of a new year for the Church, a time of hopeful longing for God to bring his goodness into our world – and a time to ready ourselves to meet him.
We join with the prophets and sages of old who looked forward to the Messiah – and recognise that although he has come before, his transformation of us, his people, and of his world, is far from complete and awaits a final consummation.
Advent at Holy Trinity kicks off on Saturday 2nd December with our family-friendly candlelit Service of Light at 8 a.m. – stay for breakfast afterwards!
We will celebrate on Advent Sunday with a special evening service at 6 p.m.
Modelled on the traditional Christmas ‘Nine Lessons & Carols’, with Advent-themed readings interspersed with anthems sung by our choir and hymns to join in, this is always a beautiful service and comes strongly recommended!
