Christmas Posada Treasure Hunt

Find the 12 posada figures hidden around the village

Mon 21st Dec—Sat 2nd Jan

For many years now a set of Posada Nativity figures have travelled around Cuckfield every Advent. Families sign up to welcome the holy family into their homes, reminding them of how difficult it was for Mary and Joseph to find anywhere to stay in Bethlehem. The good news is, there is no shortage of inns in Cuckfield! The figures usually stay in a different home every night in December!

As the figures have been unable to travel this year because of social distancing rules, we thought it would be good to have a Las Posadas Treasure Hunt, helping us remember the wonderful Christmas message of Jesus coming into the world bringing joy, light and peace. We too can welcome him into our hearts this Christmas.

The custom originated in Mexico over 400yrs ago and still continues today as a nine -day festival called Las Posadas (Spanish for “inns” or “shelters”). It is now celebrated throughout South America and in other places of the world.

When you have found as many of the figures as you can, send your answers to  There are prizes for those who get the most right answers!

Happy Posada-ing!!

Please remember social distancing guidelines.
