On Wednesday 22nd November at 7.30pm, we have a special service to witness and celebrate Revd. Daniel Valentine becoming Vicar of Cuckfield & Bolney.
Everyone is welcome to join in this historic occasion – and to stay for refreshments after the service!
In the ritual of Collation, the Bishop admits the incumbent to the spiritualities of the benefice by reading a written instrument bearing his episcopal seal committing the care of souls to Daniel.
The Archdeacon will then Induct the priest into the temporalities of the benefice. This is where Daniel is formally given possession of the Church and gets to toll the bell (and traditionally read the notices!)
